VDSers- an article on protein expression methods has been uploaded to Google Docs.
You may find this useful for your research report (and for actually doing the research!)

There are also some Journal papers on Scp1, Ca2, Ca7 and PTP1b.
I would also suggest trying to find a Review article on your target – these give a good overview of the field o f study

Hello all,
I did the midi prep on Friday since I had 2 tests on Wednesday. Thursday I had to grow up some of my cells (40190, carbonic anhydrase II). It took me about 5 hours to do the procedure on Friday. Nothing really went wrong. Well, I almost used the wrong box, but Dr. B came in and saved the day before I started. My concentration ended up being 383.1 ng/uL. I forgot to e-mail the nanodrop picture to myself, so you guys will just have to take my word for it. This week will be another low-hour week in lab because I am leaving for the weekend. However, my hours will be made up starting on the 4th. Also, I have been working on the research paper and have hit a brick wall. My target is carbonic anhydrase II. I’m pretty confused as to how virtual drug screening is relevant to this target, so hopefully Dr. B will give me some insight before next Sunday when the final draft is due.
Have a good week!

This thread can serve as a general location to ask questions about finding info on your targets.
If you have a link or resource that you have found beneficial in looking up info, you can share it here as a Comment. This will allow everyone to collaborate on how to get the info they need in the report. Also, see the Target Info Sites page to get started.

If your info is specific to a certain target, then Tag it with the target name (e.g. DHFR)
